Esports gaming injuries and how to avoid them

Oh yes, just like any office worker gamers can get injuries too. It is very important to take micro pauses and stretch. Otherwise your body wonโ€™t stand up to the tension in the long run.

Unfortunately I know this too well. I have something known as 'gamer's thumb', which is basically an RSI injury from holding video game controllers for too long. Luckily it doesn't hurt, at least!

Now that you know about it, do you do anything to lower the risk of injuries?

The only thing that springs to mind is that I take breaks a lot more regularly, little 8 year old me would be able to sit in front of a screen controller in hand for hours, but nowadays I drop the controller every 20 minutes or so just to stretch my hand.

That should make a big difference. I think they recommended at least once an hour in the video.
